5th Nagaland spelling bee championship 2016, organized by Fountain club in collaboration with SCERT Nagaland, would be held on October 6 and 7 at capital convention centre Kohima. The championship would be held under the theme ‘the learning edge’ informed convenor Vilekho Bio on Friday evening.
The champion would receive a cash prize of Rs. 60,000 along with citation and trophy, 2nd prize would fetch Rs. 40,000 while the 3rd and 4th would get Rs 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 respectively.
The quarter finalist would also get Rs. 5,000 each. Students from class 8-12 are eligible to participate in the championship.
Forms would be available at all the SCERT (DIET) centres (Mokokchung, Wokha, Phek, Mon, Tuensang, Zunheboto and Dimapur), cornerstone Belho complex P.R. Hill Kohima, Zoom Xerox near SP office Dimapur, Graffiti Peren CYN store Longleng and SK Enterprises Kiphire. It may be mentioned here that 64 students from various districts of the state participated last year.
